Hays Official Opening

A NEW independent travel agency with a high-flying team has opened up in Ashton-under-Lyne.   Hays Travel has opened in The Ladysmith Shopping Centre following a £75,000 makeover of the store.   New manager Mandy Woolley, who was brought up and lives in Ashton-under-Lyne, said she was ‘thrilled’ to be in charge of the new store in her home town.   Mandy, a mum-of-one who has worked in the travel industry for 30 years, said: “It’s very exciting for me to come back to my roots and be opening the new Hays Travel store. I’m really proud to be doing it, I have an amazing team with me who are a real pleasure to work with and we have had a lovely welcome from the community.    “We have already booked holidays in a variety of destinations, with long haul being very popular – Hong Kong, Singapore, Bali and America.   “But this has been alongside your more traditional sunshine holidays. With Hays Travel being independent, we have access to all sorts of different holidays to best fit the needs of different customers.”   The former Hartshead High School pupil added: “We have already received some five-star feedback for our customer service and people have been telling us that they are so pleased to see Hays Travel come to Ashton.”   The new store is part of a major expansion scheme for Hays Travel North West, which is the main partner of the hugely successful Hays Travel which is based in Sunderland.   Hays Travel North West now has 35 branches across North Wales and the north west, which is set to rise to 50 by the early part of 2020. In the last two months, branches have been opened in Didsbury, Rochdale and Runcorn.   Toni Smith, Regional Sales Manager for Hays Travel North West, said: “Ashton-under-Lyne is a vibrant town and we are really pleased to become part of this strong community.   “Hays Travel, which is ATOL-protected, is a well-recognised, solid and respected brand.   “Our independence means there is absolutely no pressure on our staff to sell a particular type of holiday so our customers come in and receive impartial advice without a particular emphasis on one tour operator.”
