Join Our Exciting Art Competition!

With the EURO 2024 and the Olympic Games taking place this summer, Ladysmith Shopping Centre is thrilled to ignite the flames of athleticism and community spirit in Ashton-under-Lyne. 

We’re inviting people of all ages to express their love for sports through art in our window mosaic competition.

How to Participate:

1. Create Your Art: Draw or paint your favourite sporting item, whether it’s a football, tennis ball, badminton racket, or basketball.
2. Submit Your Artwork: Take a picture of your creation and send it to us. We’re also contacting local schools to get as many budding artists involved as possible!
3. Be Part of Our Mosaic: We’ll digitally recreate your drawings to form a sport-tastic mosaic! This will be displayed at the centre, showcasing your artwork to the community and creating a fantastic photo spot for everyone to enjoy!

Don’t miss our Sport-tastic Launch Party!

We’re hosting a spectacular launch party to unveil our sport-tastic mosaic to the public, and we’re inviting all contributors to see their work come to life! 

What’s more, there will be football freestyle performances and workshops throughout the day, as well as face painting to give our guests their very own sport-inspired looks! 

Event Timetable:

• 1:30 pm – 2:00 pm: Grand Unveiling Ceremony: The vinyl will be unveiled by our Centre Manager, Ian, and a member of Willow Wood, our charity partner of the year.
• 11:05 am – 2:45 pm: Football Freestyler Performances & Interactive Workshops: Enjoy stunning performances by a professional football freestyler who will captivate and entertain visitors of all ages! As well as this, learn basic freestyle moves in our engaging workshops – perfect for all ages and skill levels.
• 11 am – 3 pm – Face Painting: Get your sport-tastic makeovers from our talented face painter and feel like a champion!

Football Freestyle Schedule:

• 11:05 am – 11:45 am – Freestyle Workshop
• 12:00 pm – 12:05 pm – Performance to music 
• 12:05 pm – 12:45 pm – Freestyle Workshop
• 1:00 pm – 1:05 pm – Performance to music

Event Terms and Conditions

1. Children aged 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult over 18
2. This event is free to attend.
3. Ladysmith Shopping Centre reserves the right to refuse entry.
4. Ladysmith Shopping Centre at its absolute discretion reserves the right at any time to cancel or amend events, activities, workshops, alter times, prices and services without notice.
5. If the event is cancelled in its entirety, Ladysmith Shopping Centre will use our reasonable endeavours to notify you as soon as reasonably possible.
6. Dogs and all other pets are not permitted within the Ladysmith Shopping Centre or any events. This is with the exception of Assistant Dogs and some restrictions do apply. 
7. Admission to any event, activity or workshop is at your own risk. Ladysmith Shopping Centre will not be held liable for any loss, injuries or damages or emotional distress sustained at or during or following the event, activity or workshop including damage, theft or losses to property and motor vehicles.
8. Please note that CCTV, film cameras and photographers may be present. By entering Ladysmith Shopping Centre, you consent to filming stills photography and sound recording and its use in distribution (commercial or otherwise) without any payment.
9. If you experience any problems during the event, activity or workshop, please contact a member of Ladysmith Shopping Centre staff, as it may not be possible to resolve issues after the event, activity or workshop.

Ladysmith Sport-tastic Mosaic Competition Terms & Conditions

1. Competition Period: Entries are open from Monday, 8th July 2024, until 12 noon on Tuesday, 30th July 2024.
2. How to Enter:
   • Follow the instructions in the designated post.
   • Create your artwork, take a photo of it, and submit it via email to charlotte.russell@toolbox-marketing.com.
3. Selection Process:
   • All entries will be carefully reviewed by the Centre Management Team and the Marketing Team.
   • The selection of artworks to be included in the mosaic is at the sole discretion of the Centre Management Team.
4. Unveiling:
   • The mosaic will be unveiled at 1:30pm on Saturday, 10th August 2024.
5. Acceptance of Terms:
   • By entering the competition, you accept these terms and conditions and agree to participate in any associated publicity. This includes but is not limited to photos, social media posts, articles, press releases, and promotional videos.  
   • Failure to agree to these terms will result in automatic exclusion from the competition.
6. Liability:
   • The promoter and partners have organised this competition in good faith and accept no liability for any matters arising from the competition.
7. Privacy:
   • Personal information (name) will not be shared with third parties except where legally or contractually required.
8. Eligibility:
   • Employees of Ladysmith and their relatives are eligible to enter.
9. Right to Cancel:
   • The promoter reserves the right to cancel the competition at any stage.
10. Governing Law:
    • These terms and conditions are governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
